20 years after the first Starbucks was built in Mexico, the Starbucks pavilion has been designed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the franchise in the country.

Located in the center of San Angel Inn in Mexico City, a few blocks away from the studio of Frida Khalo and Diego Rivera, the pavilion has been conceived based on the Starbucks logo, projected in floor plan in the center of the site. Abstracting the two main outlines of the logo in a grid that establishes the main layout. Defining with the first outline the terrace, and the second outline the program.

A radial wood slab serves as the canopy of the project, making a cantilevered floating piece supported by thin columns with an invisible curved glass that allows natural sunlight in.

Focusing on a DNA defined by sustainability, tradition and Starbucks values, the project celebrates the local nature of Pedregal of San Angel, that surrounds the structure having a 360 degree view of it.

The interior experience looks for reaching out the heart of the project with a sculptural globe as an abstraction of worldwide Starbucks presence.
