The airport design is based around key functional principles. A symmetrical footprint with a central processor allows it to be easily adaptable for future configurations. The terminal building can be expanded without affecting the terminal operation. The apron area is balanced in terms of efficiency, providing the compact area with as many aircraft stands as possible. A covered connection linking terminal, parking and metro will protect the passengers during the long rainfall season. The circulation is structured around intuitive way-finding. The proposal provides the best possible integration of architecture and nature.
To develop a program appropriate to the instructions of the Preliminary Masterplan, we adopted the following criteria: efficiency and flexibility, economy and quality, viability and accessibility.

The masterplan is designed as a catalyst that expands sustainable public transport systems.
The terminal has the most compact profile among the solutions studied, with boarding piers to accommodate 30 aircraft in the first phase, and 59 in the second phase. The distribution of the air parking spaces is flexible and allows various configurations. The terminals, the runways and the environment are spaces that complement each other. Landscape design is an integral element of the viability and accessibility. Separate areas for departures and arrivals are set up at different levels to optimize flows management.
